🚬 Cali Kulture is coming next to Hugh Howell Plaza

The empty facility next to Hugh Howell Publix will be taken by Cali Kulture.

Cali Kulture is a smoke, vape, CBD, and dispensary supply wholesaler in Tucker, GA. Previously located at 2090 Tucker Industrial Rd, it appears that they will be moving and taking over the large facility next to the Hugh Howell plaza.

This news was received with mixed reviews, with a number of Tucker residents disappointed in the use of space, stating that they were hoping for additional retail and restaurants.

🏢 Updates from Tucker’s 7/8 City Council Meeting

• 📍City Council discussed updates to business location approvals, separating them from occupation taxes to comply with state law. The new process will require businesses to seek zoning approval as the first step in opening a Tucker business, marking a significant procedural change.

• 🕑️ Extension granted for Resia’s development project at 2059 Northlake Parkway.

• 🛣️ Approval of contracts for sidewalk designs across various roads including:

  • west side of Idlewood Road from Elmdale Dr to Duesenberg Dr

  • east side of Brockett Rd from Comanche Dr to Railroad Ave

  • west side of Mountain Industrial Blvd

• 🏦 Consideration of new projects including a Fifth Third Bank branch (at 3925 LaVista Rd) and changes to alcohol license appeal processes to align with state regulations.

🌽 Tucker’s Farmers Market: this week’s highlights!

Tucker's Farmers Market is open every Thursday (4-7pm) at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (4882 Lavista Road) until October. Shop from 25+ vendors providing local fruits & veggies, baked goods, and more!

Here’s the lineup of food trucks for July 11th:

• EggRoll Boyz Food Truck - offering a diverse variety of egg rolls inspired by their global travels. Serving wings and fries too

• Fitzgerald Smoked Meats - food truck w/ Brunswick stew, pulled pork, ribs, brisket and more

• Vanilla Crepes - sweet or savory crepes

• Sabor Provisions - sweet or savory empanadas, drinks, and dips

• Sweet Sweet Syria - chicken mandi, falafel, chicken shawarma and more

Tomatoes, Pearson Farm peaches, watermelons, berries, and more are in season! Goat cheese, goat and cows milk also available this week, in addition to pork, beef, chicken, lamb and goat meat.

Tucker has a new exciting group dedicated to organizing fun and engaging activities for seniors (50+) – Tucker Sēn-agers! 🤘 If you’re interested in participating in a variety of events, meeting new friends, and having a great time, join the group here!

🎭️ Auditions: A Murderous Scandal in Tuckerton!

Location: Rehoboth Baptist Church (2997 Lawrenceville Hwy)
Date/time: Thursday (7/11) from 7-9pm OR Saturday (7/13) from 10am-1pm

Announcing auditions for an exciting murder mystery dinner theatre show! Show dates are August 15th, 18th, and more coming!

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script (be ready to improvise!), and come prepared w/ 3-4 lines from a nursery rhyme or poem w/ your best British accent (does not need to be memorized).

📚️ 5th Annual Back to School Celebration

Omega Support Center proudly hosts the 5th Annual BACK TO SCHOOL CELEBRATION on Saturday, July 27th, from 10AM-2PM. Join us for a day of fun, food, and fellowship, as we distribute free backpacks & school supplies to get ready for the 2024-2025 school year.

Location: Distribution location will be in Tucker and To Be Announced closer to the event date. All registered students will receive notifications concerning the event.

Students of DeKalb County Schools only. Eligible schools include:

• THS, Tucker Middle, Henderson Middle, Henderson EM, Brockett EM, Smokerise EM, Idlewood EM, Midvale EM, Livsey EM, Pleasantdale EM, Evansdale EM
