Tucker is finally seeing progress on the long-awaited Town Green downtown park project — a significant part of the city’s original vision. Thanks to funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, land for the park was acquired, with bids for the project now open until June 20th.
Mayor Frank Auman anticipates awarding a contract by July, with hopes to finish the park by July 2025. 🙌
In other business, city council discussed revisions to the 2025 Fiscal Year budget, including considerations for city employee compensation and property tax adjustments to maintain financial balance.

🅿️ Innovative Solutions to Downtown Parking

Tucker’s tackling its parking problem head-on! Earlier this month, City Council green-lit a new plan to expand downtown parking options:
City of Tucker entered a contract with Tucker First Baptist Church, securing 101 shared parking spaces for 5.5 years. These spots will be marked with green striping to differentiate from regular parking.
The City will take care of paving, pothole repair, re-striping, signage, and ongoing maintenance. They’re even setting up a dedicated webpage with a map to make finding parking easier.
With parking available Monday through Saturday (7am - 8pm), and the church reserving Sundays for its own use, it’s a win-win for all Tucker residents! Read more from the source: City of Tucker.

Volunteers describe Howdy as a pure lover. Howdy is playful, bouncy, loves to cuddle and is an obedient boy who knows his sit and paw commands. He’s a favorite amongst many of the volunteers who say he melts into their arms for attention and love.
