Tucker’s Most Dangerous and Hated Intersection
Tucker citizens have long expressed the dire need to improve the safety and efficiency of the intersection at Fellowship and Lavista Road.
Because cars needing to turn from Fellowship onto Lavista have no dedicated left turn, this intersection – often known as the “Tucker Triangle” – contributes to traffic congestion, dangerous driving, and one too many accidents.
Exciting improvements to this intersection are under works. After assessing multiple traffic models, city consultants have proposed a new design that includes:
Re-striping the northbound approach of Fellowship Road to add a left-turn lane onto Lavista;
modifications to the traffic signal;
a short median at 2nd Street; and
a pedestrian crossing at 1st Avenue.
The design is currently under GDOT review. Once approved, the hope is to construct later this year. For more in-depth details, check out the Fellowship Rd traffic study and detailed recommendations (page 92).

To kick off Tucker Restaurant Week, Tucker Today went to La Glorieta for their TRW Tuesday special – the Enchiladas Combo.
In addition to the Enchiladas, we tried the Steak Baleadas. Both were delicious but if you have to try one, we recommend the Baleadas. A traditional Honduran dish with beans, cheese, cream, eggs, avocado, and perfectly seasoned steak wrapped in a warm flour tortilla, you get the perfect bite for only $5.99.

Located at the intersection of Lawrenceville Highway and Fellowship Rd, La Glorieta is Tucker’s newest restaurant serving up delicious Honduran food.

🥘 Don’t miss out – Tucker Restaurant Week Is Happening Now!
Tucker’s 4th Annual Restaurant Week (Feb 20 -25th) is here! Things kicked off on Tuesday, but it’s not too late to go out and support the 20+ different local Tucker restaurants serving up delicious eats and sweets.

🥞 Did someone say Fluffy Fluffy?
Japanese-style souffle pancakes are coming soon to Tucker and we couldn’t be more excited! Translated from the Japanese word “Fuwa”, Fluffy Fluffy opened a new location in Duluth on December 9 and has plans to open mid-2024 on Lavista Road.
Never tried these viral pancakes before? Let’s just say they live up to their name. Topped with fresh fruits, toppings, and delicious sauces, they’ll be worth the wait.
If pancakes aren’t your thing, they also have sweet and savory croffles, burnt top cheesecake, macarons, and specialty drinks — overall an amazing addition to Tucker’s dessert scene!

Special Shout-out: Lenten Fish Fry 🐟️
Location: Holy Cross Catholic Church (3773 Chamblee Tucker Rd)
Date/Time: every Friday from Feb 16 - March 22 (5-7:30 pm)
The Knights of Columbus invite you to join them each Friday of Lent for their traditional Lenten Fish Fry. Full dinners will be served. Dine-in is available in the Parish Hall and takeout is also available via drive-through. Proceeds will support the Parish and local community.
