🌨️⚠️ Freezing Temps Halt Road Clearing: Tucker Warns Drivers to Exercise Caution

Alert sent on Jan 22 AM
On January 22nd AM, DeKalb County issued a public safety alert due to severe winter weather. Read more here. As of the 1/22 morning update:
🚘️ Over 100 vehicles have been reporting stranded; residents are strongly urged to avoid travel to prevent further incidents and delays.
🚒 Crews are working to build safe passage to critical areas, but progress is slow due to the freezing temperatures.
🚨 For real-time updates, visit the DeKalb County website and follow official county channels. Emergency alerts will also be issued via CodeRED and the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system.
Due to the number of abandoned cars, the public works crews are unable to plow and salt Lilburn Stone Mountain Road. While all roads are open, City of Tucker encourages everyone to continue exercising caution on the roads.
Check the social channels of GDOT and DeKalb Police Department for other area road updates.
Stay safe and warm, Tucker!
