😲 Tucker HS Teacher on Leave After DUI, Gun Found at School

A Tucker High School teacher was arrested Monday, December 9th after allegedly driving drunk on campus and hitting another vehicle in the school parking lot. When DeKalb County Schools Police searched her car, they discovered a loaded .38 revolver containing five rounds of ammunition.

The incident occurred around 7:40 am after the teacher, who admitted to drinking the previous night, returned from picking up food. Police noted she appeared unsteady and smelled of alcohol. No injuries were reported.

The school principal confirmed the incident in a letter to parents, stating the teacher has been placed on administrative leave and banned from district property pending investigation.

🎈Tucker Goodwill’s Grand Reopening

The Hugh Howell Road Goodwill location has unveiled its new makeover as part of a region-wide refresh program. The store, which has served the Tucker community since 2017, reopened its doors on December 12 following renovations that began in September.

This update is part of Goodwill's broader initiative across North Georgia, with stores in Rome, Covington, Fayetteville and other cities already receiving similar upgrades. The refresh aims to enhance the overall experience for shoppers, donors, and staff alike.

Congratulations to Goodwill on their grand reopening and for helping over 22K North Georgians find employment in 2024! ✨

Want to help children in need this holiday season? Tucker Recreation Center is a drop-off location for Toys for Tots from December 2nd-21st. Bring new, unwrapped toys to donate to the annual holiday drive! Collection boxes will be placed in the main lobby during operation hours.

All donations will go toward spreading joy and making the holiday season brighter for local families. ✨

💐 Tucker Honors Fallen Heroes in First-Ever Wreaths Across America Ceremony

Tucker Masonic Lodge No. 42 made history this weekend, hosting the area's first Wreaths Across America ceremony at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Over 70 service members' graves received wreaths during the December 14 event, led by Worshipful Master Marvin Brown.

The tribute, part of a nationwide movement spanning 4,225 locations, extended to Old Fellowship Cemetery where Revolutionary and Civil War veterans were honored. This tradition, now in its 18th year, continues its mission of remembering the fallen and honoring active service members.
