🍰 International Bakery Brings Global Flavors to Tucker's Main Street

Patricia Martin's Cakes Castle has officially opened on Main Street, offering a unique twist on the traditional bakery experience. The Bahamian immigrant turned an unexpected talent into a thriving business that celebrates metro Atlanta's diversity.

It all started with Martin’s strawberry cheesecake recipe. With encouragement from her husband stationed in Kuwait, she sold the cake at a women's convention where it sold out completely.

After winning awards shipping cakes to competitions nationwide, Martin opened her first location in Buford. The pandemic forced a closure, but she reopened in Tucker with a broader vision: an international bakery reflecting the area's immigrant communities.

"I noticed that metro Atlanta has a lot of immigrants, and me being an immigrant, I noticed that a lot of them would come in and ask for different cakes," Martin explained. The menu now spans continents with Ukrainian honey cake, French coconut Raffaello, Italian tiramisu, Jamaican hummingbird cake, and Bahamian specialties like coconut tarts and benny cake.

Top sellers include red velvet cake, honey cake, and her signature cheesecake brownie. The bakery accommodates dietary restrictions with gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options, plus custom orders. She even stocks exclusive Bahamian Goombay Punch soda.

Beyond sweets, Martin aims to create community. "When they walk into Cakes Castle, I hope that they're welcome and have a sense of community," she said. "That's what I'm trying to build."
