👮 Box Cutter Threat Leads to Hours-Long SWAT Standoff

A Tucker man armed with box cutters threatened passing vehicles on May 29th, prompting a hours-long SWAT standoff that shut down traffic between Midvale and Brockett Road.

The incident started around 1:30 p.m. when police received reports of someone in the roadway "going after cars" with the weapon. After threatening responding officers, the man barricaded himself inside his home. DeKalb County SWAT spent several hours trying to negotiate before deploying gas and making entry. The suspect was taken into custody without injury to anyone involved. Traffic was disrupted for several hours as the situation unfolded.
