🕊️ Rest In Peace to Tucker’s Beloved Icon
Tucker’s community is heartbroken by the passing of James “Bud” King, a beloved icon.
“Coach Bud” was a fixture of Tucker High School sporting games and an integral part of the broader community. There was an outpouring of grief at the news of his passing, with many sharing memories of Bud and the beautiful impact he’s had on the Tucker community.
Bud’s family expressed their gratitude for prayers and community support in the week-long search to find him. Our hearts and thoughts go out to Bud’s friends and family; he will be sorely missed.
Details on Bud’s visitation and funeral service were shared on the family’s gofundme page.
The family of JAMES “Bud” Jeffrey King will receive visitors, Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm, at Turner & Son’s Funeral Home, at 2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA 30033.
The memorial service will be on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 11:30am, held at the Rehoboth Baptist Church, at 2997 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084. 💔
⚠️ Railroad Crossing Closures
CSX Transportation plans to close several railroad crossings in Dekalb County next month for maintenance, affecting at least eight crossings. The affected crossings include:
Brockett Road (Tucker)
Montreal Road (Tucker)
Frazier Road (Tucker)
Lenox Road (Atlanta, Fulton County)
Howells Yard (Atlanta, Fulton County)
Coventry Road (Decatur)
East Lake Drive (Decatur)
Dekalb Avenue / West Howard Avenue (Atlanta)
Despite the potential disruptions these closures will cause, CSX has declined to disclose more information – leaving Dekalb and Decatur officials in the dark. Aside from citing closure for “crossing maintenance”, no further details are known about specific dates, times, or detour routes.
Why is CSX not saying more?

Small Business News 📰
Katch Kitchen and Bar in Tucker hit national news for charging patrons a surprise $10 entertainment fee per person. Tucker citizens are questioning how much is too much when dining at a restaurant.
A spokesperson for Katch explained that this fee is becoming standard practice for restaurants hosting live performers. The fee helps businesses offset increasing operational expenses in a challenging economy.
The debate over pricing transparency continues – what do you think?
