Costco is Coming to Stone Mountain! 🛒
What once were the former Olympic Tennis Courts is being transformed into a large mixed-use development, set to include both residential and commercial spaces. Notably, the largest commercial lease is going to Costco.
This is exciting news for Tucker residents, as the closest Costco is currently in Brookhaven, about 10 miles away.
The Tucker community received this news with mixed reviews: most are ecstatic to see Costco occupy the space, while others said the space could have been used better. What do you think about this development?
The timing of the development is still TBD. More details here.

Tucker Trail Updates 🍃
City Council approved an extra $52K to cover more engineering work on the Hugh Howell Road Trail Phase 2. This additional money will fund a hydrology study to improve drainage along the trail.
The Hugh Howell Road side path extension is under design from Marthasville Court to Stratmor Drive. Construction is expected to be open for bidding this summer.

In the 2024 calendar year, there have been 2 ribbon cuttings, 15 new businesses, and 105 applications in progress working toward getting occupational tax certificates. 🙌
Tucker Downtown Facade Grant Program 💵
An exciting new initiative will provide grants to support small businesses in improving their exterior facades.
Taken from the City of Tucker announcement page, “Tucker will provide matching grant awards ranging from $2,500 - $10,000. It will match up to 50% of the project, with a maximum of $5,000 for minor projects and $10,000 for major projects.” There is an additional $2,500 bonus available for major projects restoring a historic facade.
Offered on a first come first serve basis, there is currently $50K still available for grants in this fiscal year (ending June 30, 2024).
Staff completed 120 outreach visits to evangelize this program. We hope to see many Tucker small businesses taking advantage of this great opportunity!
