📰 Anne Lerner Elected Tucker's Second Mayor
Anne Lerner won decisively in Tucker's mayoral race on November 4, capturing 57.52% of the vote. She'll replace outgoing Mayor Frank Auman, who is stepping down due to term limits after serving as Tucker's first mayor since the city's incorporation in 2015.

Lerner declared victory Tuesday evening at her watch party behind Local 7, where she introduced her husband as the "First Gentleman of Tucker" and acknowledged the work ahead.
"It's going to be tough. We've made tough decisions together before," Lerner told supporters. "We're not always going to be on the same page, but know that we're going to work together. We are going to respect each other, and everything we do is going to be for 37,000 people."
The race remained cordial throughout, with all three candidates—Lerner, Noelle Monferdini (24.91%), and Beverly Williams (17.57%)—expressing mutual respect for one another on election night.
In city council races, all three incumbents successfully defended their seats. Roger Orlando won District 1 with 58.14%, Cara Schroeder took District 2 with 59.05%, and Alexis Weaver dominated District 3 with 70.13% of the vote.
Thank you to everyone who voted and made their voices count!
Lerner will be sworn in as mayor on January 1, 2026. Her campaign platform stated the following priorities:
Public Safety: Work with DeKalb County on 911 response times and ensure Tucker Precinct officers focus within city limits; strengthen connection between neighborhoods, police, and city leadership
Business Districts: Partner with Tucker's two Community Improvement Districts to address car break-ins, loitering, and panhandling
Downtown Development: Continue building a strong downtown center that attracts quality, self-sustaining businesses
Infrastructure: Invest in roads and stormwater maintenance with proper funding
Housing: Develop strategy to help residents grow up and age in-place in Tucker, incorporating Lifelong Communities principles
Parks & Recreation: Evaluate current system to balance services and activities while preserving natural spaces; analyze programming at Tucker Recreation Center and other locations

🙌 Tucker Celebrates a Decade of Cityhood

Tucker kicked off its 10th anniversary celebration on November 1 with a packed day of festivities at Church Street Greenspace. The event honored the November 2015 referendum that established the city with more than 70% voter approval.
The day began with a ceremony featuring speeches, a video retrospective of Tucker's first decade, and a mocktail toast led by Mayor Frank Auman and First Lady Gaye Auman. Longtime residents picked up commemorative T-shirts, while attendees signed a banner celebrating the city's achievements.
The festivities continued with a Georgia-Florida game tailgate party on the big screen—complete with a mechanical bulldog for the kids—and wrapped up with a free evening concert by Michelle Malone. State representatives, past and present city council members, and DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson joined in celebrating the milestone.
This launch event is just the beginning of a yearlong celebration that will culminate in a Harvest Festival in November 2026. Mayor Auman, who will step down in January due to term limits, helped usher in this commemorative year as Tucker prepares to unveil its new Town Green downtown on November 14.
