Kidnapping & Assault in Tucker
On March 26th, a woman was hospitalized after a reported kidnapping and assault while leaving her workplace on Montreal Road. The assailant forced her to withdraw money from an ATM and inflicted severe injuries before she managed to escape and seek help from Dekalb County Fire Station 22.
Dekalb County Police are investigating the incident. The victim’s family is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Dekalb County Police, provide tips anonymously by calling 404-577-TIPS, or submit a tip online. Read more here.

The Bizarre Bazaar held an amazing pop-up event last Saturday outside Treasures on the Railroad. An art market, antique sale, egg hunt, and fundraiser for Scraplanta – all in one! Folks enjoyed a day of shopping with 20+ unique vendors, an egg hunt, and easter basket making.

Small Business News 📰
In case you missed our last newsletter, staff shared an update on Tucker’s economic development at the last City Council meeting: In the 2024 calendar year, there have been 2 ribbon cuttings, 15 new businesses, and 105 applications in progress working toward getting occupational tax certificates. 🙌
We’re excited to see Tucker’s small business community grow!

What better way to welcome spring than to get your garden stocked and ready? Join us for Tucker’s first UMC veggie and plant sale! Veggies are $3 each or 4 for $10, and herbs are $1 each or 6-packs for $5. All are ready-to-plant. A steal!

All proceeds will fund the Tucker Mission Garden & Greenhouse; 100% of their produced veggies will go to the Networks Food Pantry.
🍷 Senior Outing: Chateau Elan Winery
Date/time: Thursday, May 9th (10am - 4pm) | Cost: $48 per person
Seniors - Registration for a day trip to Chateau Elan Winery opens up on Monday, April 8th! You’ll receive a tour of the winery and enjoy lunch with a wine tasting. Transportation is provided. Be sure to claim your spot and share with your friends! More details here.

Registration for Tucker’s summer Pickleball league opens Monday, April 22nd! A new men’s and women’s singles league is being added this season. All leagues will start the week of June 10. More details here.
