ā Closing Alert: Kaceyās Home Cooking, Applebees & CVS
Applebeeās on Lawrenceville Highway suddenly shut down on May 13, leaving no explanation. This follows news that Applebeeās plans to close around 35 restaurants this year, after shutting down over 100 in 2017. The closures seem linked to a decline in sales.
Tucker is saying goodbye to another beloved spot as Kaceyās Home Cooking on Lavista Road is set to close its doors on June 23 due to rising rent costs. Despite the closure, loyal customers are rallying behind Kaceyās, even starting a petition with hundreds of signatures to support a possible relocation. In the petition, they praise the restaurant for its delicious homestyle meals and sense of community. Fifth Third Bank branch is planned to replace Kaceyās.
Lastly, the CVS off Chamblee Tucker is closing on June 11, 2024. The new location will be 5575 Lawrenceville Hwy, 30047.
š Donāt forget Tuckerās Farmers Market is in full swing!
In case you missed it, Tucker's Farmers Market has been open for about a month since opening on April 18th. Shop from 25+ vendors providing local fruits & veggies, baked goods, and more ā every Thursday (4-7pm) until October.
On May 23rd, Just LoafāN Poboys Food Truck ā named āBest Cajunā by Atlanta Magazine and āBest Sandwichā by AJC ā will be serving up their delicious cajun and creole food at Tuckerās Farmers Market. This is your sign to go try one of their award-winning Shrimp Poboys!

Itās never too early to mark your calendars for Taste of Tucker 2024! š Happening on Saturday, October 5th (1-6pm) on Main Street, this 15th anniversary celebration will be huge and one you wonāt want to miss.
They have already started recruiting restaurants ā let your favorite Tucker restaurant know and encourage them to register today!

Tucker Today partners with Dekalb County Animal Shelter. Every week, we highlight local animals looking for their forever home.
In this weekās edition of Tucker Treasures, weāre featuring Shielah. Shielah has been at the shelter for 100+ days and is eligible for a free adoption as part of the 100 Club!
 Shielah (2 years old, 54 lbs) | āShielah is a beautiful grey dog with golden eyes who is very sweet. She just wants pets and love; sheās very affectionate and gentle with her requests for love. But thenā¦ itās zoomie time. She will suddenly jump into action and do the cutest zoomies all around the yard.ā A volunteer said it best: āSheās the sweetest baby seal, just wants love!ā Check out her profile here for more details (and cute pics)! |
