🚨 DeKalb Police Crackdown on Illegal Street Racing
DeKalb police hit the streets with force this weekend, teaming up with other agencies to put the brakes on illegal street racing. Their targeted operation across multiple county locations netted impressive results: over 11 arrests, 40 traffic citations, several weapons seized, and 10 vehicles hauled off to the impound lot.

This wasn't just a one-time effort. DeKalb County Police are working hand-in-hand with state and local departments to aggressively enforce traffic laws and keep our roads safe from these dangerous drivers.
Got evidence of racing in your neighborhood? Residents are encouraged to send photos or videos to [email protected]. Let's work together to keep our streets for cruising, not racing!
More information can be found at DeKalb County Police Department’s Facebook page.
🌼 Fitzgerald Park Opens with Spring Celebration
Tucker officially unveiled its newly renovated Fitzgerald Park during the annual Parks & Recreation Spring Fling on Saturday, March 29. Mayor Frank Auman led the ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside Tucker Football League members, city officials, and even the Easter Bunny.

The park, which dates back to the 1950s and was acquired by the city in 2019, has undergone significant improvements including:
Complete water and sewer system replacement
New accessible parking and sidewalks
Multipurpose artificial turf field
New restrooms and concession stands
The upgraded facility now features one football field, a multipurpose artificial turf field, a multipurpose natural field, two baseball fields, and increased walkability. City Councilmember Cara Schroeder called it "the best thing that's happened in Tucker," noting that over 300 young baseball players participated in the celebration parade.
Tucker’s annual Spring Fling was another great success with fun family activities like the popular Candy Dash and special appearances by the Easter Bunny. Be sure to check out more photos from the event here: Decaturish.

Tucker Treasures 💝
Tucker Today partners with Dekalb County Animal Shelter. Every week, we highlight local animals looking for their forever home.
In this week’s edition of Tucker Treasures, we’re featuring Gizmo!
![]() Gizmo (male); 2yrs, 60lbs | “Gizmo may be a big guy, but he's also on the timid side. While in foster, it became clear that he is very responsive to training. He really connects with his handler, especially when treats are involved, and seems eager to please. Volunteers call him a low energy boy who was content to lay down on the ground, sit in the shade all while looking incredibly handsome. Bring Gizmo home and picture you and him by the fireplace, Netlfix on and chilling. We love this big, shy guy and you will, too.” Spread the word about Gizmo! Email [email protected] or call 404.294.2165 for more info. |
